Who Am I?
I'm Amuthavanan E, the founder of Grit&Gigs.
I'm a solo developer, a dreamer, and someone who believes Indian talent deserves better.
I built Grit&Gigs alone — every line of code, every design, every email. No team. No funding. Just late nights and a relentless belief that India needs its own freelance platform.
Why I Built Grit&Gigs
It started with a simple observation:
Indian freelancers are some of the most talented people in the world. They build software for Google, design for Apple, write for Fortune 500 companies. But when they work through global platforms, they lose 20% of their income to fees.
A freelancer earning ₹5,00,000 a year on Upwork loses ₹1,00,000 to platform fees. That's a month's rent. That's their child's school fees. That's a family's medical emergency fund.
I asked myself: Why is Indian money flowing to American platforms when we have everything we need right here?
That question kept me awake at night.
So I built Grit&Gigs.
What Grit&Gigs Stands For
The name says it all:
